St. Lucius: A Backstory, Rocket League becomes serious

About a month or so now, let's say around June 23rd of 2021, I became obsessed with improving at Rocket League (RL/rl). I had played of and on for years, since about 2017, I think that's a year into when it hit Steam on PC. I purchased the game, and like I said, played very casually, here and there, for years. Until one day, my girlfriend hears me talking trash about my teammates and asks some basic questions about the game. I really am unsure, up until then, I thought each player had a static position they started with each round of the match, if I was closes I was shooter, and furthest, I was goalie for the entire play (until someone scored), and that is wrong.

Things didn't really pickup for me until one day, looking around on youtube, my girl was like, 'did you know you can customize your car with some mod'? That mod was bakkesmod. It looked complicated but a day later, I decided to check it out, being fairly computer literate. Low and behold, the cosmetics were the least interesting thing about bakkesmod. Freeplay became really useful. I started researching into the game. So much to learn, seemed like everyday a whole new chunk of information opened up on the subject of RL. I purchases a twenty dollar gamesrdy guide and so it began. Researching on Discord, finding the complete guides to RL that others had compiled. It happened, I finally realized how bad of a player I was, and starting to grasp why, and more importantly what to do about it.

More to come. How I met Jesus of Rocket League, and my suspicions about smurfing confirmed (or how I learned about Smurfs: save us Black Smurf/Gargamel).
